Well... its here... and as predicted...
... bad
OK. Review time... I'm lost for words. I needed two weeks to do this... started with three... ended up with one due to Contextual Studies and DVD making; and neither of the tasks were compulsory.
The final colourings and drawings were not THE final, as they had to be rushed in time to get something ready; in fact... EVERYTHING was rushed, and hench a bad film. Last term I disliked my Gorilla work because was missing rigging to create the story... but at least it was watchable...
THIS HOWEVER is a confused mess; it's so badly timed that I really needed that second week to make this terror into my greatest work. EVERYTHING WAS PLANNED; I felt hurt when the time was ceased...
There's not much words for other than complaining, I feel bad... ends bad... and I wouldn't be suprised to what I get at the end. I'm not saying contextual studies is the only problem as I had many sleeping troubles, my patterns were out the wack causing interuptions. But the majority WAS contextual; it just wasted what could have been my passing.
Well its over, everything went wrong... and I can only hope that there is good in this bad.
Goodbye.

Coloured Scans - 1st Preview
Well I'm working throughout the night to at least get something shown tomorrow... here's a preview of whats to come (I wouldn't want a preview for THIS personally...):
7th Heaven... well hell
DVD - yes... no pun.
One good thing out of Rave on Air was that I got a contact who was interested in my work... but in return I had to send a DVD to him.
The menu was ready... EXCEPT FOR TV VIEWINGS, which took a few days to recreate for both computer and on screen. But I did not have a DVD cover created.

Using hours and hours of annoying photoshopping BEHOLD:
I am NOT a "DVD cover expert", but this is good enough to show my work. The borders work work well printed also...

Music/Sound
My original plan was to have the 30 seconds film to be filled with sound... but due to time troubles I hard to replace this all with a overtune.
I couldn't find anything that came close to what I hoped for, something to set the emotion... but there are two musics being used, one for the animatic (also Rave on Air - Copyright issues) and one for the final.
The one for Rave on Air has no title, just "track 37" of a voice-music CD. It's copyright free and its better than nothing... it also remained as the tune for my animatic.
The one that can be used for the final workings is "Track 16 - Final Dreams" from the soundtrack of Dune.
Music isn't my area... I love it and would want the best out of it, but I can't create it myself... sadly.

6th time... no charm
here we go again...

RIGHT THEN... a lot of it was cleared out since it was labelled under "Rave on Air". Now the final work comes into play. I also removed "Thumbnails" as it wasn't needed for this project, the storyboards are enough... if there is a story.
Music/Sound and DVD cover needs *snigger* covering...
That was uncalled for...

There is actually animation?
Ok working on the final... so much time wasted through contextual that I'm worried about my final work. Its just gonna be awful at this rate... I really... REALLY needed last week to tidy this up.
Anyway for your info have some workings of an animation test. The first picture was unused but original was going to show how the animation would work:
Enjoy! Nothing much here but... ENJOY!

Last post...
Hi guys.
I don't know why this blog is cutting off the youtube videos. I didn't notice it on the Gorilla from last term but theres not much I can do. I guess you should just follow the youtube link instead of watching it out...
Sorry y'all.

Logohoho
As you may have seen already, there is a logo now on my blog. While it's not accurate to the final "yellow" logo; its good enough. Really... the other difference is, is that the one of the blog is green to match the coloured background; yellow wouldn't work.
SIS - Story in Simple
Right... well for a 30 seconds film there isn;t anything grand I can say about the world. To be honest other than the "real" idea of Materialism I want to create there isn't much I can tell that wouldn't be out of context. The whole 30 seconds is to show the terror throughout the environment; the gasman and the "trash" citizens. I could go further into backstories... but at the end of the film you hope to know more and whats the backhistory of this event.
That's it...
*cough*
That's it...
*cough*

So where must I be...
Time for Timetable... again.
Well... its a little better now (removing those of whats 100% completed)
Better get those story talks and logos up!
The Backgrounds of many
About time you say? Here be the concept work of the backgrounds.... yarrrgh.
Continuation of the London photos I wanted to create an urban world mixing the city I grew up in and the imagination I want to show. Huge, dark and messy... yeah... thats about right.
Here ya go:

I have even colours in some of the animatic backgrounds, just to see what it would look like IF used for the final. Hopefully by the end I will have more time to work upon these.

Colour Mahearties!
... don't ask.

OK the colour... well if you check the animatic picture above you can see Ive used a blue mood scheme for the backgrounds. Well... wait a bit longer and I will upload the final animatic for you to see. BUT the reason I've chosen this is that I wanted to create a lost mood of despair and depression; the original idea was to have the world gray but then there wouldn't be any life at all; which clearly (even the gasmen) have reasons to be there. The world is dark but not nothing.
Now the characters; as you may have guessed they will be seperated from the background which consists of dark toned colours; as the characters will be bright to represent two different stories of the world. We have the emotion of the characters in this moment of terror; but also the remains and history of the city itself consealed within those backgrounds.
What's left to remain is IF I keep the blue background scheme in the final film... it works great in the animatic so far but who knows whats to happen when its completed... all I know is that its possible that everything will go wrong... I REALLY HOPE that does NOT happen.

The Final Characters
As said, here are the final concepts of the main characters.

Click on the picture for a bigger image of course... I'm not sure why its been scaled like this. Anyway I careful wanted to use bright colours for these characters to create the "cartoons can be serious" message I hope the final can achieve; but hopefully not too distracting either.
Blue and Red, I wanted to keep them simple yet effective. They do what they were designed for.
The gasmen was a tough one since I didn't want them to have red eyes to represent the antagonist; but... all the different tests ranging from yellow to white just didn't show that fear in which I wanted to finish with. I'm not pure happy with the final design, but its good.
The General wasn't such a big deal since he only played a minor role; but countered as a character like everyone else. To seperate his rank from the gasmen I wanted to design a costume that wasn't so dark but instead to play his role of command. The green might seem a bit typical but it does its job, and can blend into the world.
I could fill in all day about why this was chosen, but I try and level it up a bit in the colour scheme blog coming up next!

Archi was here
NOW the next set of photos, the buildings. I want my world to be custom and full of my designs, but growing up in London I guess hude amounts of influence would come from the city itself, so it would help to see the buildings to see an inspiration of the world I'm creating.
